News Lines - Electrifying Progress:- 1986 sees the completion of the Hastings and Cambridge electrification projects, further work towards Norwich in East Anglia, on the East Coast Main Line and in Ayrshire and commencement of the East Grinstead scheme. This featue shows work in progress an illustrates the workings current on these lines at the time.

Cab ride - The Settle and Carlisle, or rather Carlisle to Settle:- Recorded from the cab of 47 474 on 8th.January 1986, the view from the cab shows the celebrated line in winter with snow everywhere!. We pass D200, two 31s and a 25 and hear anecdotes from Driver George Parker and Inspector Ron Gerrard.

Archive Film - Ivo Peters' Someset & Dorset Railway:- Ivo Peters is as celebrated as the S & D itself and his 16mm colour film of the line in its heyday from 1959 to its demise brings it back to life after all these years after closure on 6th.March 1966. The pictures are enhanced by Peter Handford's fabulous sound recordings of locomotives hard at work on the S & D.
